I lived in the Uk for several years, and I always seemed to score sunny summers! Just lucky I guess. I spent one summer living in Mawgan Porth and it was the density of people I found oppressive rather than the rain...

Good luck with that sun though!

Although i think the first poster goes too far i think you need to understand the feeling that has been created in the local community from those outside who seem to veiw the area as their own private playground. This has not so much to do with surfing as the decimation of the local culture and community by the wholesale purchase of land and accommadation most of which sits empty for the year. This kills the local economy and large sections of the population are unable to work or find places to live. If you walk around newquay at the moment you will see the numerous empty luxury development building sites that now sit empty due to the credit crunch, this has impacted on the number of holiday makers visiting and therefore again on the work available and stand as a testimant to the greed of those who have and their disregard for those that have not.

hi anonymous 2 .. thanks for your comment.. I am not sure why my blog has become a target for this debate, I am just sharing my photography and my love of images and surfing here. How do you know that I don't 'understand' what you are saying above? Does my photography scream I want a penthouse apartment at Fistral beach to you? I don't 'understand' why anonymous 1 felt the need to leave such offensive language on my blog .. plain and simple.. . .. this is not the place for this age old debate .. take it to magic seaweed .. if you would like to comment on my photos though, I would love to hear your thoughts .. aloha Kate

Oh & thanks Rebecca :-) lucky you living in Mawgan Porth for a while, I've spent some happy times there!
